What other AI tools are coming from ActiveCampaign’s AI Lab?
The three tools currently in the AI Lab. The Email Grader, Subject Line Optimizer, and Industry Benchmarker are the start, not the ceiling. At the AI Lab by ActiveCampaign, we are actively building out the AI tool suite beyond email, with tools in development that span the full marketing workflow: a content exploder that turns one anchor asset into many pieces of polished derivative content, a customer journey mapping tool, and an SMS segment calculator, among others. Did ActiveCampaign use AI to build these AI tools?
Yes. Deliberately, and worth saying plainly. The three tools were conceived, PRD’d, and prototyped using AI, in under two weeks. The same AI-assisted workflow we write about in the Intelligence Brief is the one we used to ship these tools. The subject line optimizer, email grader, and industry benchmarker aren’t just tools about autonomous marketing, they’re products of it.
How does the AI Lab’s AI Email Grader work?
The AI Email Grader analyzes a submitted email across six dimensions: subject line, copy, design, mobile readiness, deliverability, and accessibility. It returns an A–F score for each dimension along with specific recommendations. The first three recommendations are available immediately. How does the AI Lab’s Industry Benchmarker work?
The Industry Benchmarker takes your industry and your core email metrics: open rate, click rate, deliverability, unsubscribe rate, and compares them against ActiveCampaign’s proprietary dataset of 8.3 million+ campaigns. It shows where you rank relative to peers in your industry and identifies your biggest performance gaps, with a plain-language explanation of what’s driving them.
How does the AI Lab’s AI Subject Line Optimizer work?
The Subject Line Optimizer works two ways: paste in an existing subject line to get a critique, or describe your email to generate new variations from scratch. Each output includes the strategy behind it — curiosity gap, direct benefit, urgency, personalization — so you understand why a line is likely to perform, not just what it says.
Do I need an ActiveCampaign account to use these tools?
No. All three tools are free to use without an account or login. They are designed for any marketer, including those who have never used ActiveCampaign, who wants access to benchmark data and AI analysis that isn’t available anywhere else.
